Scottish Women Artists author Charlotte Rostek, In conversation
Join Charlotte Rostek author of "Scottish Women Artists" and gain further insight into dovecots latest exhibition.
In her important survey, she introduces the story of over 60 artists, from the eighteenth century to today’s acclaimed figures, looking into their professional and personal journeys.
Rostek will discuss the pioneering Catherine Read, breakthrough Victorians such as Phoebe Anna Traquair and 1880’s Glasgow Girl, Bessie MacNicol. Twentieth-century artists range from Beatrice Huntingdon and Anne Redpath to Joan Eardley, Elizabeth Blackadder, Victoria Crowe and Alison Watt and more contemporary artists. Rostek will be in discussion with Dovecot Director Celia Joicey about the tapestry studios work with artists since 1912 including new projects with Alberta Whittle and Sekai Macache.
Charlotte Rostek is a professional in the arts and heritage sector. who started out as a fine art curator. She currently works as Development Lead for the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust at Dalkeith Palace in Midlothian and is also Dumfries House Curator Emeritus.
