Christmas Themed Boro Inspired Slow Stitch | 1st Nov 2025

Slow stitching is a mindful and relaxing experience and can be used to repair and recycle clothes and household textiles. Boro means rags in Japanese. In the past people would patch their clothes and household textiles repeatedly, mainly using blue and indigo scraps that were easily available in impoverished rural Japanese communities. This would be done so often that all that was left was the repairs and little would be seen of the original item.
In this workshop, which is inspired by Japanese Boro stitching, you will create a small Christmas themed textile, using a beautifully curated selection of Christmas fabrics, hand dyed swatches, printed ribbon, and coloured threads. You will be guided to create your own textile by Sue, an experienced teacher and textile enthusiast.
All materials provided; no experience required. Suitable for beginners / experience stitchers.
