Katazome is a centuries-old, Japanese resist-dyeing method used to create patterned textiles. This workshop will begin with a brief presentation on the technique, including examples of katazome fabrics and the intricate stencils used to make them. Y

As the technique involves many stages normally carried out over several days, it isn’t possible to produce a finished piece in a half-day workshop. You will take your fabric home, with the instructions and materials required to finish it. Don’t worry – the last steps are the most straightforward and should you have any questions, Ellen will be available to contact.
