Exposed Stitch Bookbinding ft. Woven Spine | 2nd April 2026

Join Edinburgh based Bookbinder Cass Barron to create a leather or pleather bound book, featuring colourful exposed stitching, decorative inner pages, a nifty page divider and cosy woven spine. 

An exciting mix of materials is provided for you to work with, inspired by the current exhibition at Dovecot, plus remnant threads from the tapestry studio to weave into your book.

This is a really versatile book structure that works well as a sketchbook or journal, with pages that open up nice and flat. Cass will share a range of stitch variations in the workshop for you to choose from and follow up video instructions are included so you can continue experimenting at home.
