Royal School of Needlework Sip & Stitch 2024

Dovecot Studios are delighted to be a host for the Royal School of Needlework Sip & Stitch 2024.

Bring along your current embroidery project or browse the Dovecot shop for inspiration and join like-minded sewers in our dedicated sewing space from 11am to 1pm.  Share ideas and techniques as you enjoy a relaxing few hours of crafting with a small selection of snacks and soft drinks available and a 15% discount on hot drinks from the Dovecot Café on the day.

The RSN is passionate about keeping the art of hand embroidery alive and the RSN Stitch Bank aims to digitally conserve and preserve every stitch in the world to be the biggest repository of stitch.  Every year, stitches are lost as they fall out of use or through general wear and the age of the object. Textiles also continue to be threatened by changes in manufacturing processes and more aggressive issues. Donations raised by this event help the RSN to create the world’s largest online directory of stitches, digitally conserving and preserving every stitch around the globe and work to keep the resource free for everyone to use.

Once you have finished working on your own embroidery why not visit our exhibition Stitched: Scotland's Embroidered Art. We are offering a 10% discount on General and Concession admission tickets to the exhibition for attendees of this event. Tickets may be purchased at the booking desk on the day of this event. 

The RSN Sip & Stitch is free to attend but booking is essential.
