Tapestry Colour Studies: David Remfry and Dovecot Studios, Chandelirium 2025 #1

In 2025, Dovecot invited acclaimed artist David Remfry MBE RA to bring his lyrical artistic vision to Dovecot Studios by commissioning his first-ever tapestry. Depicting the green chandeliers of New York City’s Soho House against an obscured background, the tapestry is reminiscent of metropolitan decadence at the turn of the 20th century.  

Created after Remfry’s oil painting, Chandelirium (2018), the tapestry took two weavers four months to create.

Specification: 

• Ash waxed frame (200mm x 200mm)
• Anti-reflective and UV protected glass (Artglass AR70)
• Dovecot Studios mark of authentication

Every sample sold supports Dovecot and allows us to create artwork for Scotland and sustain the future of tapestry weaving.
