Tapestry Colour Studies: Mark Hearld and Dovecot Studios, The Cockerel 2025 #3

In 2024, Mark Hearld was invited to Dovecot to take up a month long residency on the weaving floor. This proved to be an exceptionally creative time for Mark, seeing him produce multiple large-scale works. These collages were inspired by the scale and colours of the studio and included his trademark iconography from the natural world.

Cockerel was designed by Mark to be interpreted specifically into tapestry and incorporates many of the motifs and textures created during his residency.

• Anti-reflective and UV protected glass (Artglass AR70)
• Dovecot Studios mark of authentication

Every sample sold supports Dovecot and allows us to create artwork for Scotland and sustain the future of tapestry weaving.
