Celebrate a remarkable milestone in Scottish art

Join us for a captivating evening in honour of one of Scotland’s most celebrated artists, Victoria Crowe, as she marks her 80th year with a rare and intimate conversation. In this special event, Crowe will be joined by the distinguished Sir John Leighton, former Director-General of the National Galleries of Scotland, for a thought-provoking discussion that delves into the inspirations, themes, and evolution of her extraordinary six-decade career.

This exclusive evening also offers an exclusive drinks reception and exhibition preview of Shifting Surfaces following the talk— which opens to the public on the 28th July, and explores her unique relationship with Dovecot Studios, including tapestry, gun-tufted rugs, paintings, prints and works on paper.

The event launches a city-wide celebration of Crowe’s legacy, presented in collaboration between The Scottish Gallery and Dovecot Studios. As part of the festivities, Decades, opening at The Scottish Gallery on 31st July, will unveil a major new body of work—powerful, poetic, and deeply personal—marking this extraordinary milestone with the grace and brilliance that define Crowe’s enduring impact on the world of art.
